Leader Letter

Dear Travelers,

Welcome to Bridge China 2010! We are overjoyed to be back with Windsor Mountain for another season. We are ready to begin this wonderful journey—we hope you are too. We are so glad that you will be spending July with us! This trip will be action packed: among other things, we will learn Chinese at Beijing Normal University, climb the Great Wall, walk the Forbidden City, and stroll through the ancient Qian Men shopping market. We will visit the oldest movie theater in China, design and teach an awesome Friendship Camp during our Homestay week in Pengliu, and see the amazing Terracotta Warriors outside of Xi’an. Finally, we will finish our trip in one of the most exciting cities in the world—Hong Kong.

We hope you are all ready to learn and grow through this wonderful travel experience. As your leaders, we cannot wait to meet and get to know each and everyone of you. We love to travel and have been leading summer study abroad trips for 6 years now—we truly believe that this summer will be the best ever. Along with your personal belongings, please bring along a sense of adventure and an open mind. We will encounter many different situations where you might be pushed outside of your comfort zone: all we ask is that you bring yourself fully to the program every day, and do your best. If everyone gives it their all, then everything will be fine. One last thing: please follow the packing list! Pack light, and remember that China is HOT during the summer.

Are you ready? We are! You should all be looking forward to one of the most exciting journeys of your life!

Sincerely yours,
Yi Peng March Wang

Welcome!

Welcome to the Windsor Mountain Student Travel Bridge China Blog!

This is the place to find updates on your children, relatives, friends, who are traveling to China on our program this summer. We will be posting stories, personal anecdotes, and pictures throughout the trip. Important information, such as the times and dates the students will be calling home and their mail stop information will also be posted on the blog at a later date.

We expect to post a minimum of one new blog update per week. We certainly hope to post more, but internet access varies throughout China.

The current update:
Angus and Neesa are settled into base camp in Windsor, New Hampshire. We are working hard to finalize trip plans and prepare for staff orientation. The Student Travel Staff have already begun arriving and formal orientation will begin on the 20th. As the people and emails roll in, the overwhelming feeling is one of excitement - we can't wait for the trips to begin!

Families, remember, between June 21-28, Amy and March will be calling all of you to introduce themselves, go over packing lists, trip details, and answer all your questions.

So this is the blog! If you have any questions about it or there is something you would like to see posted, please let Neesa know: Neesa@WindsorMountain.org.
